You can upgrade your folding arm awnings with stabilising poles for wider spans and extra heavy-duty applications. These poles ensure that your awning remains securely in place, even under challenging weather conditions.

The Tomakin folding arm awning can be customised with widths ranging from 2 metres to 15 metres, making it suitable for all size outdoor spaces.

The awning’s pitch can be adjusted during installation to ensure it is optimally positioned. The pitch control feature allows the angle to be set from 0–90° for the initial installation. Once installed, you can adjust the pitch with a crank handle on both sides of the arms.

The Tomakin Folding Arm Awning is designed to withstand moderate wind conditions. For added protection, it can be fitted with an optional motion sensor that will automatically retract the awning during high winds or unexpected gusts. For this reason, Aurora Designs does not recommend a wind sensor for Folding Arm Awnings. Motion sensors, which are fitted to the arms, are a much better option.

It is available in a range of outdoor acrylic fabrics, designed specifically to withstand the harsh Australian sun and provide excellent shade and sun protection.

• Sun sensors are programmed to extend your awning when the sun is starting to hit the windows of your home. It will then retract your awning as the sun goes down.
• A rain sensor is ideal for situations where your awning cannot be installed with a steep pitch. A suitable pitch (angle) is essential to allow rain to run off your awning. If the angle is too shallow, rain collects on the awning and stretches the fabric.
• Another way the rain sensor can be used is when enough pitch is available on your awning. The wires on the sensor can then be reversed so that your awning actually extends when it begins to rain. This is ideal for keeping furniture and your outdoor area dry.
• The wind (or motion) sensor is usually combined with the sun sensor, measuring both the level of the sun as well as wind speed. This type of sensor offers you the ultimate in automation, allowing protection for furniture and reducing heating costs in your home, whilst protecting your awning from damage.

The Aurora folding arm awnings are designed to be low maintenance. Simply clean the fabric periodically with water and mild detergent, and ensure that the cassette and moving parts are free from debris. Regular maintenance checks are recommended to ensure optimal performance.
