Vertical blinds remain a popular choice for their practicality, versatility, and affordability. Although we don’t get much call for them very often, and they might not be everyone’s cup of tea, they can serve a purpose and look nice in certain applications – especially if you’re using some high quality fabrics. They’re mainly chosen for patio doors or widespan windows where fabric gathering from a curtain or sheer is not desired.
At Aurora Designs, we use high-quality fabrics from Shaw, Four Families, and Textiles, as well as having the ability to source fabrics from well-known European workrooms like Louvolite, Coulisse and others. Aurora Designs choose premium componentry for our locally made Vertical Blinds from the likes of SIlent Gliss, JAI, Pacific Wholesale or Coulisse – depending on the technical requirements for your project.
While vertical window blinds are evolving in style, they are a cost-effective solution for landlords and an ideal choice for matching existing installations in homes.

Customisable Weights
Chained weighted slats: The traditional style, with small beaded chains in between each slat at the bottom of the blind.
Chainless weighted vertical slats: The most popular and our recommended finish, which allow for a heavy duty slat weight, but no sewing lines.
Chainless sewn-in weights: Similar to chainless weighted, but with the individual weight sewn into the base.
Flexible Control Options
Wand Control: This is Aurora Designs recommended option. A twist of the wand can turn the slats from opening/closed position.
Cord Control: Traditional corded look. There are a few downsides to having cords, however, it would be our recommendation to include cords should you have reach/access issues.
Motorisation: Seamless integration into smart home systems for effortless operation.

Slat Widths
Available in 89mm and 127mm wide fabric slats for tailored aesthetics. Other measurements are available for certain applications.

Maximum Width
You can go quite wide with a single track, upwards of 10m, where they’re butted together and joined for easy flow.
However, a single track length on a Vertical Blind is 3.5 metres.
Maximum Height
Up to 3 metres.
Tracks
Acmeda, JAI or Pacific Wholesale tracks, engineered for durability and smooth operation with Silent Gliss premium tracks and componentry available for more upmarket options using marine grade strength.
Extension Brackets
Extension brackets are available to take the slat and track projection past any obstacles, such as door mullions, other window furnishings installed.
Fabric Composition
High-quality, UV-stabilised 100% polyester for durability and fade resistance. Fabrics have been rigorously tested for colour fastness and quality of the yarn and weave integrity.
Opacity Levels
Sheer view: Allows light to filter through, perfect for gentle illumination.
Light-filtering: Filters the light to allow an essence of natural light in whilst still providing privacy.
Blockout: Provides full privacy and protection from harsh sunlight.
Vane Construction
Individually crafted fabric drops offer smooth movement and stability.
Mounting Options
Ceiling or wall mount for easy installation in any room or indoor area.
Track System
Hidden track options available to create a clean, uninterrupted look.
